Have you ever wanted to learn how the professionals storyboard? Here is your chance to learn storyboarding from someone who storyboards every day for The Simpsons, the the longest-running American sitcom. Shane Sowell, the teacher for this course, has been storyboarding The Simpsons since 2006. In addition to his work on The Simpsons, Shane has also been a Layout Artist on King of the Hill and a variety of other projects.
In the course Storyboarding for Animated Television, Shane will describe the process he goes through to create storyboards. He will teach you how to take a script and break it down into thumbnails, then storyboards in a way that will ensure that your boards show the story. This course will provide a solid understanding of what a storyboard artist does day to day and prepares you for a career in the field.
In this course you will take part in six live online sessions where Shane Sowell will review student assignments and answer your questions. These online classes are recorded and are made available to you to download. In addition to the live sessions, pre-recorded video lessons teach you the material in preparation for the live sessions.
